Hello there, hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!?

The February boxes set sail yesterday so I had a bit of a relaxing night last night! Now to catch up with a few blog posts on this quiet Sunday afternoon whilst my whirlwind boy is visiting his Grandma and Grandad.

Just to let you know - there are a few February boxes left, so if you would still like to subscribe, here's the link.

The 5th and final product to be revealed for this month's Kissed by the Ocean box was the Jasmine & Matcha Green Tea Salt & Sulpur Scrub by The Salt Parlour. This product is 100% natural, cruelty free and vegan.

Jasmine & Matcha Green Tea Salt & Sulphur Scrub

The Jasmine Oil gives this scrub such a lovely sweet floral aroma. It is often referred to as 'The Queen of the Night' as the smell can be described as seductive and sensual, doubling it up as a natural aphrodisiac. Perfect to feature in the February box - month of love!

Jasmine Oil is also known to uplift your mood, give you an energy boost and help you unwind and relax when tired or stressed. In some cultures, it is used a natural cure for anxiety and depression. This scrub is ideal for a pampering session to make you feel good about yourself.

Just one little thing to note - Jasmine Oil is not suitable for use during pregnancy as it may trigger contractions and as I am currently 19 weeks pregnant, I didn't get to try out this lovely scrub, but I'll definitely be adding this to my green beauty list to try out once the little one arrives!

The Matcha Green Tea is a powerful antioxidant, helping rid your skin of free radicals. It also contains tannins which helps to protect your skin from pollution, and caffeine, which stimulates blood flow targeting cellulite, stretch marks and troubled skin conditions.

The Dead Sea salt is the perfect natural exfoliator, gently removing dead skin cells whilst providing your skin with a nutritional boost as the high content of minerals and vitamins are easily absorbed into our skin. Dead Sea salts can also be beneficial to people who suffer from dry skin conditions.

The other main ingredient present in these scrubs is organic sulphur. I don't think I have used this in any skincare products before so this is something I definitely would like to try out. After doing a bit of research, I have discovered this little nutrient potentially has a lot of benefits for our skin, some of which I have listed below:-

  • Increases resistance to illness
  • Increases blood circulation
  • Reduces muscle and joint inflammation
  • Rids the body of free radicals
  • Promotes healthy growth of hair and nails
  • Reduces wrinkes

This list is by no means complete, so do look into the benefits further as you may be surprised at how many there are!

A little bit about The Salt Parlour....

The Salt Parlour

Taken from their story on their website:

...'With a love for the sea and all things natural, we originally started making Salt & Sulphur Scrubs to tackle our own skin gripes (one of us suffers from psoriasis and the other with acne).
Having seen the incredible effects the sea has on the skin time and time again on our beach holidays, we set about recreating this feeling and our scrubs were born.  Our handmade scrubs became so popular with friends and family that we decided it was time to start our little company and share all that natural goodness.'

Their ethos is simple - 'to provide natural, vegan, cruelty free and earth friendly skincare products that give you beautifully exfoliated, happy, healthy and glowing skin without doing a drop of damage to our planet'.

Their ethics don't stop with the products, but the packaging is earth friendly too. The scrubs come in fully recyclable little round tins. Once you have finished using up all your lovely scrub, the tins could also be re-used and/or upcycled. For example, you could re-use them to organise your office stationary (staples/paperclips/drawing pins etc) or you could have one on the bathroom shelf for hair bobble or hairgrips.

In total, there are 6 scrubs to try out:

  • Coffee & Coconut - STIMULATE
  • Jasmine & Matcha Green Tea - REPAIR
  • Seaweed & Cucumber - HYDRATE
  • Rose & Shea Butter - CALM
  • Black Clay & Vanilla - DETOX
  • Lime & AvOcado - ENERGISE

They all sound amazing! You can purchase any of these scrubs in their online shop here.

Also, I recommend you check out and follow their beautiful Instagram feed as not only do they post great content, they regularly post offers and discounts too!

Much love
