Charities We Support

Here at The Natural Beauty Box, we care a great deal about the future of our planet, our environment and the welfare of the people and animals who inhabit it together. We wanted to give something back, to support some of the causes we strongly believe in so for every Natural Beauty Box sold, 50p will be donated to charity. We also work with like-minded partner brands who share the same values, and you will find that a lot of the brands we work with also donate to charities.

We couldn't choose one charity outright as there are so many great charities out there doing great work. We therefore decided to choose a different charity every quarter so we could support a variety of fantastic causes that we care about. You will find details below of each of the charities we have chosen so far.

April - June 2017

The second charity chosen for boxes sold during April - June 17 is The Marine Conservation Societythe UK's leading charity for the protection of our seas, shores and wildlife.

Marine Conservation Society

Taken from their website....

"The Marine Conservation Society champions the need for marine wildlife protection, sustainable fisheries and clean seas and beaches.

Our seas are under immense pressure: too many fish are being taken out, too much rubbish is being thrown in and too little is being done to protect our precious marine wildlife and vital fish stocks.

MCS's vision is for seas rich in wildlife, abundant fish stocks and pollution free beaches and bathing waters - seas that are fit for wildlife to thrive in and for people to enjoy, and seas that will support future generations with abundant resources."

Since launching The Natural Beauty Box in January, I have become increasingly aware of the damage we are doing to our oceans, marine life and beaches. Plastic waste being a major contributor to this. MCS do a great deal to get poeple involved and raise awareness of the causes of environmental damage. They have various campaigns such as Don't Let Go, Scrub It OutWet Wipes Turn Nasty and The Plastic Challenge. These campaigns are fantastic for spreading the word, getting everyone involved and helping people make more conscious decisions.

I first came across this charity through the brand Earth Conscious, who's natural deodorant was featured in our January box and after further research coupled with being a lover of the ocean, I couldn't not choose MCS.

January - March 2017

The first charity chosen for boxes sold during January - March 17 is Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary. Based in the Ribble Valley, close to where Emma (the founder of The Natural Beauty Box) lives, Bleakholt cares for cats, dogs, equine and farm animals and small pets.

Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary

They aim to find loving, caring, happy homes for their small animals/pets, but for those that can't be rehomed, they will spend the rest of their days at the sanctuary being cared for along with the other farm and equine animals.

Emma wanted to choose a local charity first of all, to give something back to the community where she lives as well as a cause that we care about here at The Natural Beauty Box. Our boxes are all cruelty-free and from February onwards, all vegan friendly, so animal welfare is high on our priority list. Emma has always been an animal lover, growing up with 3 family dogs, and now being a dog owner herself, she admires the work being done at Bleakholt.
However, they could not do it without donations, as the costs they must pay for vet bills, animal food, utilities etc are extremely high (click here for more info) so every donation they receive, small or large, will be put to good use and be used to care for the animals at the sanctuary.
The Natural Beauty Box would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has subscribed or bought a box as a one off gift box. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
